From: Lorraine Crawford
To: [email protected]; CITY COUNCIL (INCL. CMO STAFF) Subject: Rescind the parental book banning committe
Date: Thursday, January 16, 2025 1:29:27 PM
You don't often get email from [email protected]. Learn why this is important Dear Huntington Beach Council Members,
Rather than scheduling a special election and incurring more costs and creating more divisiveness, I urge you to rescind the parental book banning

committee. We have an
outstanding library, professional librarians and a system in place to review any questionable books. If you haven’t already, please do the right thing, the most professional and cost effective,

and repeal the ordinance.

Second, for similar reasons, there is no need to privatize the library, especially when there will be no appreciable costs savings, and a loss of all the volunteer help and fundraising.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
Lorraine June Crawford

From: Judy Morris
To: [email protected]; CITY COUNCIL (INCL. CMO STAFF) Subject: 1-21-25 Agenda Items #18 24-797 & #19 25-033
Date: Friday, January 17, 2025 1:12:42 PM
You don't often get email from [email protected]. Learn why this is important There are two options listed on the agenda regarding each of the two Library agenda items, Option A and Option B. It is my understanding that the City Council also has a third option, which is to allow the citizens to vote on both issues. However this third option is either inadvertently or intentionally not listed on the agenda.

It seems to me that the option to allow the citizens of Huntington Beach to vote on these important issues should have also been included on the agenda to accurately reflect the facts of the matter, and in the interest of full transparency.

I encourage the city council to simply select option A for both items. Selection of the option to obtain a report in my view is merely a delay tactic, and the option to allow citizens to vote on these important issues and the associated costs should be considered by the City Council Sent from Yahoo Mail for iPhone

There are two options, Option A and Option B, listed on the agenda regarding each of the two Library agenda items. It is my understanding that the city council also has a third option to choose from for both issues, which is to allow the citizens to vote on these issues. However this option was either inadvertently or intentionally not listed on the agenda.

To accurately reflect the facts of this matter and in the interest of full transparency, the option allowing citizens to vote on both issues should also appear on the agenda, and the associated costs to the City to put these issues to a vote should be discussed by City Council and disclosed to the citizens of Huntington Beach.

I encourage the City Council to select Option A for both items. Selection of the option to obtain a report in my view is merely a delay tactic.
