Adopt Resolution No. 2025-26 appointing Robert Torrez as Interim Chief Financial Officer and approving the Employment Agreement.
This agenda item is most troubling since it we lost our last permanent Chief Financial Officer some time ago and have had to settle for now two interim hires in a row!
This coupled with
the impending FY 2026 budget deficit’s decisions this should become the utmost priority for the HB City Council to plan and hire for competence and sustainable stability! Please try to be more transparent and disclose your hiring plan for a permanent HB Chief Financial Officer. The lack of sustained continuity in-dangers The City of Huntington Beach’s financial safety.
