A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACTS OF
THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION CONSOLIDATED WITH THE
PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY ELECTION HELD ON MARCH 5, 2024,
DECLARING THE RESULTS AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS
PROVIDED BY LAW
WHEREAS, a Special Municipal Election consolidatedwith the Presidential Primary Electionwasheldandconductedin theCity of HuntingtonBeach, California, onTuesday, March 5, 2024, asrequired by law; and
WHEREAS, notice of the election was given in time, form andmanner asprovided by law; thatVote Centerswereproperlyestablished; thatelectionofficerswereappointedandthat in all respectsthe election was held and conductedand the votes were cast, received and canvassedandthe returns made and declaredin time, form andmanner asrequired by the provisionsoftheElectionsCodeof theStateof Californiafortheholdingof electionsin charter cities; and
WHEREAS,theCountyElectionsDepartmentcanvassedthereturnsoftheelectionand hascertified the resultsto this City Council, the results arereceived, attachedandmade a part hereof as Exhibit" A".
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON
BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the whole number of Vote Center ballots cast for City of Huntington Beach MeasureA was 10,489; the whole number of Vote-By-Mail ballots castfor CityofHuntingtonBeachMeasureA was51,104; makingatotalof61,593ballotscastinthe City for Measure A.
SECTION 2. That the whole number of Vote Center ballots cast for City of Huntington Beach MeasureB was 10,481; the whole number of Vote-By-Mail ballots castfor Cityof HuntingtonBeachMeasureB was51,108; makingatotalof 61,589ballotscastin the City for Measure B.
SECTION 3. That the whole number of Vote Centerballots castfor City of HuntingtonBeachMeasureC was10,323; thewholenumberof Vote-By-Mail ballotscastfor Cityof HuntingtonBeachMeasureCwas50,148; makingatotalof 60,471ballotscastin the City for Measure C.

SECTION 4. Thatthemeasurespresentedandvoteduponattheelection, and their results, are as follows:

SECTION 5. TheCity Councildoesdeclareanddetermine:
Thatasaresultof theelection, amajority of votersvoting onMeasureA, amendingthe CityCharterrelatedtomunicipalelections, votedinfavorofit, andthattheMeasurepassed.
Thatasaresultof the election, amajorityof votersvotingonMeasureB, amendingthe CityCharterrelatedtodisplayofflags, votedinfavorofit, andthattheMeasurepassed.
That as a result of the election, a majority of voters voting on Measure C, amending the CityCharterrelatedtotheCitybudgetandotheradministrativeprocedures, didnotvoteinfavor of it, and that the Measure failed.
SECTION 6. TheCityClerkshallenterintotherecordsoftheCityCounciloftheCity, a statement of the results of the election, showing: ( 1) the whole number of Vote Center and Vote- By- Mail ballots cast in the City; ( 2) the measures voted upon; ( 3) the number of votes givenfor andagainstsaidmeasures.
SECTION 7. ThattheCityClerkshallcertifytothepassageandadoptionofthis resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions.
