Public Comments: Amory Hanson express support for Draft Legislative Platform.
Minutes of January 23, 2026 meeting: APPROVED (3-0)
1. Federal Legislative Update –
FY 26 Approp riations are approved (except Homeland Security) and our appropriations were included in the approval. Huntington Beach will receive $850k for the Navigation Center via Congressman Dave Min. FY27 requests begin soon and HB will need to put together the FY27 projects and to submit.
2. State Update- Taylor Triffo, Kahn Soares & Conway.
SB 979 (Strickland) – related to RHNA, KSC will put together a coalition.
February 20 introduction deadline for State Legislature.
3. Updates from Committee Members. None.
4. Staff update.
Draft 2026 Legislative Platform approved 3-0.
