Subject: Uphold Planning Commission approval of HBCSD Maintenance building Date: Wednesday, April 29, 2026 11:43:31 AM
You don't often get email from [email protected]. Learn why this is important Dear Mayor and Members of the Huntington Beach City Council, I’m a parent at Eader Elementary, and I’m urging you to uphold the Planning Commission’s 6–1 approval of the Maintenance and Operations (M&O) building.

This project has already been thoroughly reviewed and approved at every required level, including CEQA, the Zoning Administrator, and the Planning Commission. Further delays only drain resources that should be supporting our students.

The M&O team already operates from this site, currently outdoors. Moving operations indoors will reduce noise, improve safety, and provide a functional workspace. The proposed 7,500 sq. ft. building is modest, meets all City standards, and includes sound‑reducing and aesthetic features.

Our schools rely on the M&O team to keep classrooms safe and functional every day. This building simply gives them the tools and space they need to support the 4,500+ students in our district.

Please affirm the Planning Commission’s decision and allow this essential project to move forward.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
Arin Lopez
Huntington Beach
