Thank you to the City Council and City staff for selecting RRM to move the Edison Park design process forward. As a 50 year resident of HB, I strongly support the approval of RRM.
Since funds have already been allocated for Edison Park improvements they should remain dedicated to the park’s redevelopment regardless of the City’s financial issues.
I believe the City should continue communicating and engaging directly with the surrounding community throughout the design process.
Lastly,
the Edison Park Community Group should be formally included and invited to participate in the next design phase.
Thanks again,
Fran Leibowitz

You don't often get email from [email protected]. Learn why this is important As a Huntington Beach Park Place resident, 51 years and counting, I am writing to express my support for funding the Edison Pak Reconfiguration Project and for selecting RRM Design Group as the design firm working with the City and community. I would also like to reemphasize these points:
· Funds already allocated for Edison Park improvements should remain dedicated to the park’s redevelopment, even as the City faces serious financial constraints.
· The City should continue communicating and engaging directly with the surrounding community throughout the design process. · The Edison Park Community Group should be formally included and invited to participate in the next design phase.
Thank you for addressing our concerns and for keeping Edison Park a “community” park for all residents.

You don't often get email from [email protected]. Learn why this is important hi, local resident here: The hundred of kids in the area would still like a big Pump Track build.
Sadly, they could not implement this in the costly redesign.
The area is for all to use, not just surrounding residents and pickleball players. Many that use the park did not attend the meetings and/or are underage-busy with school.
The youth need more outdoor areas to get out energy and grow, beyond playgrounds. With skateboarding being huge here, a real pumptrack is still on the desire horizon.
The changes that have been approved just don't seem to add to the large amount being paid.
This is worrisome to the cause.
We will miss the raquetball courts and hope the city hears the call for a "PumpTrack" in HB. Thank you for letting us in the loop.
Bummer we weren't heard.
Sincerely, other visitors of the park.

Re: SUPPORT for AGENDA Item #19 (HB City Council Meeting 9/1/2026) Good Evening, Dear Mayor, and Huntington Beach City Council Members...
I hope you remember me for all my recent advocacy to include FOUR Bocce Ball courts as part of the Edison Park design...Thank You So Much for your APPROVAL on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026, that included the FOUR Bocce Ball courts as part of "Plan Option 2"...
Subsequently, on Wed., April 1st, 2026, I sent all of you an email at [email protected]
that contained a LINK to my comprehensive 60+ page REPORT at Google Docs, titled:
Best PRACTICES/CONTRACTORS: Outside Synthetic Bocce Courts & More -docs.google.com/document/d/1D5jAw1oSIDgyzfLuBuS16RWCSHQ7QSfphefMpBdt988/edit? usp=sharing
In that same email (4/1/2026), I also shared this same REPORT with HB City Officials: Ashley Wysocki, Kristin Martinez, and Steve Barnes...Days later, I personally handed Ashley Wysocki (2) hardcopies of this same REPORT, at HB City Hall...
I hope you thought enough of this REPORT (which was mostly born from the AVOIDABLE COSTLY MISTAKES made with the Bocce Ball courts at, Murdy Park), that you might consider including it, in any materials sent to "rrm Design Group", for their review and consideration, as part of the Edison Park design...Thank You So Much!
And, finally, and just as importantly, as a Edison Park Community Group MEMBER, I kindly request the following:
Funds already allocated for Edison Park improvements should remain dedicated to the park’s redevelopment, even as the City faces serious financial constraints.
The City should continue communicating and engaging directly with the surrounding community throughout the design process.
The Edison Park Community Group should be formally included and invited to participate in the next design phase.
Again, Thank You So Much, for Your Time and Consideration!...
Best Wishes...
