Newland House Museum & Water Tower RestorationCC-1788
September 15, 2026 City Council Meeting
Project Overview
The Newland House Museum is the oldest surviving residence and the only Queen Anne Victorian structure in the City of Huntington Beach. Originally constructed in 1898 by William and Mary Newland, the Newland House functions now as a museum and borders Barlett Park.
In the CIP FY 2024-2025 List of Projects, the Newland House Museum and Water Tower was included for exterior restoration.
The proposed project includes the scraping and surface preparation of existing siding, fascia, window frames, window molding, and window putty. As needed, the project will require the removal of rotten wood. The project will replace all removed wood, window frames, and window moldings to match. All surfaces will be cleaned, and all surfaces shall be primed and painted with ultra-premium paint.
