WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS
COUNCIL COMMUNICATIONS
Councilmember Martiz: Question regarding Easter. Can pets take pictures with the bunny?. She is planning to attend. Thank you so much for creating those spaces in the community. Thank you for timing of that event. I wanted to ask staff for update with LA County regarding the library. Southgate unveiled their library last Friday and constituents are asking. She would like to be good partners and get information regarding the library.
Tree People have been trying to reach out to Public Works to get a Tree Planting MOU.
They have money allocated to plant hundreds of trees throughout South LA so they would like to get something in writing so they can start working on planting more trees in the community. We would like a community with more trees.
Councilmember Macias: Thank you to parks for all their work. Happy Women’s month to female director! National Caregiver Day falls in march and want to honor caregivers in the community. Sympathize with on of the honorees who has a mom with dementia.
Thank you to women and all that they do.
Councilmember Flores: Thank you to staff for all that you have done. Looks forward to all the projects that are being rolled out. Some of these facilities renovations are long overdue. Happy Women’s history month.
Vice Mayor Sanabria: Thank you to staff for all that you do! Happy women’s history month! He wouldn’t be able to be here at 9:30pm if it wasn’t for his wife; who is the rock of their relationship. He appreciates everything that she does. As we talk about contracts he wants to see about going out to RFP for the attorneys.
Mayor Martinez: Earth day is coming up. Hope we have a Community Cleanup planned for that day. If we could do the west side of Pacific Blvd. In regard to Broadband Outreach he would like an update. In regard to the State of the City in the past has been held at City Hall, but this event is free even if it is being held at a private business. If we can host another one here at City Hall or the park outside in the future to increase outreach.
