WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS

COUNCIL COMMUNICATIONS
Councilmember Martiz: I wanted to share about this weekend it was very beautiful seeing the community event in our neighboring city. It was nice seeing the open street events and the people of the community and local communities coming out. Want to see about partnering with the neighbors. This was a reminder of local hazards such as the Boyle Heights fire. Thinking about the 4th of July event wanted to see what staff can do to ensure that members of the public are safe.

Councilmember Macias: Thank you to everybody! I wanted to bring up some concerns regarding staff at the watch parties and want to ensure staff are behaving as public servants. Make sure certain activities are monitored and staff behave appropriately and safely.

Vice Mayor Sanabria: Thank you everybody. Requested update on the conversation Janice Hahn had in regard to the Boyle Heights fire and requested that City Manager gives a report [Assistant City Manager Stephany Santin gave a summary report: Air quality has improved, and communications were sent out to the public].

Mayor Martinez: Thank you staff for making sure we have a successful event at Raul Perez Park. Thank you to staff for assisting with the community events. If we could host an open community event ourselves, maybe at Salt Lake Park it would be appreciated.

He also wanted to add a Study Session about the My Huntington Park App, particularly the bulky pickup item. Lately, they are not being picked up.
