City Clerk: Statement: After four-and-a-half years of dedicated service I have made the difficult decision to pursue a new professional development opportunity. Serving the residents of Huntington Park and supporting the City Council, City Administration, and the democratic process has been one of the greatest privileges of my career. During my tenure I have had the honor of collaborating with an exceptional team of professionals whose commitment to public service has inspired me every day. I am sincerely grateful for the trust, support and collaboration extended to me by City Staff, department directors, and elected officials. The professional relationships I have developed throughout these years are ones that I will always value and appreciate. I am proud of what we have accomplished together and confident that City will continue to thrive through the dedication and hard work of its employees. I remain committed to ensuring a smooth and seamless transition and have been here to assist in that transition. With my final day being this Thursday, July 16th, I want to thank the staff, administration, directors, and city council for the opportunity to serve the City of Huntington Park, the community and its residents. It has truly been an honor to contribute to the cities mission and be a part of this organization that is dedicated to public service and leave immense gratitude and respect to everyone that has been part of this journey.

WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS

COUNCIL COMMUNICATIONS
Councilmember Martiz: Thank you to Eddie for your service. The City of Huntington Park is very lucky to have you as the City Clerk. Especially in the last year for implementing the By-district process and helping protect the democratic process. Making sure we were moving the city to a better place. Please don’t forget about us and will be cheerleading you wherever you go. Also, want to give a shoutout to Jeff and the finance team that we finally implemented this finance system. These types of investments our community members don’t really see, but hopefully they feel when they come with the City. Congratulations to finance and Congratulations to the city.

Councilmember Macias: Wishing everybody a good night. Mr. Sarmiento it has been an honor having you here in the City. It was an honor of being part of the council that was in the initial interview. I know you will be in an amazing rendition wherever you go.

Congratulations on your continued journey on your career. Your professionalism is part of and wanted to thank you for showing your commitment to the community. It has been a great honor and I’m sorry to see you go, it’s a great loss for us here in Huntington Park and I know you will be a great gain to another community. Please always consider Huntington Park your home.

Councilmember Flores: Wants to take time to recognize the amazing work you have done here Eddie. With the City. The city has gone through a few transitions. The one thing I can say about you if your professionalism, your love for the community is something I admire. I once joked that you should run for office, I genuinely think that one day you should step into that role one day. The City is going to have a good addition.

Vice Mayor Sanabria: Thank you everyone for all that you do. Thank you to the police department for assisting with the fireworks control. Parks and Recreation amazing show, wish it was a little longer. City Manager thanks for letting everyone know what is occurring. Your professionalism is very impressive, and it is very hard to see you go. As opportunities are granted to folks we can’t let them pass. I wish you nothing but the best.

I know you will continue to succeed and serve larger and larger communities.

Mayor Martinez: Thank you staff for having an amazing 4th of July event. City Clerk, you were an amazing city clerk. It was a pleasure to get to know you. You were very professional and I wish you success in life in your next chapter. You did a very good job.

Regarding upcoming elections, in my experience what occurred with the FBI and DA investigation there were a lot of things done wrong behind our backs. I worry that the same group will try to take control of the city and put pressure on directors and the city managers to do stuff behinds out backs. I want to see how the city can have better protection and let the public and council know if stuff is being done wrong. I would like to have reform and ensure that we never have incidents like that never happen again.
