WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS

COUNCIL COMMUNICATIONS
Councilmember Martiz: Councilmember Martiez shared that she looks forward to the new audio/ visual system. I know it’s going to elevate the experience for our residents, vendors, and partners trying to stay engaged. She appreciated the help from the City Manager’s office regarding Coyote sightings in Huntington Park and appreciated getting a flyer out, so residents can keep themselves and their pets safe. There is an understanding that Huntington Park Animal Control won’t do anything about coyotes but wants to make sure that officers out on the field know what kind of support they need and can offer to the community. Wants to take an opportunity to continue talking about animal control in the city. She also appreciates the animal spay and neuter event that we are holding with the community because those events are very important.

Councilmember Macias: Councilmember Macias said thank you to everyone and have a good night.

Councilmember Flores: Councilmember Flores wanted to give a shoutout to Parks and Rec staff, I know the department is going to have a busy couple of weeks Vice Mayor Sanabria: Vice Mayor Sanabria wanted to say thank you all! Staff is here every single day; we count on you and the work that you all do. I really do appreciate all the work that you have done. The fact that we don’t have many complaints demonstrates just how much work you are all putting into every single day.

Mayor Martinez: Thank you for making sure we’re here safe. Wanted to bring up an issue that was brought up by the City Manager. Mayor Martinez visited the Rita parking garage on Sunday and there was a lot of trash. Sometimes there are issues that we see it, but we don’t do anything about it. I know the City Manager will be addressing the issue with staff and ensuring we find solutions. Mayor emphasized the benefit about being districted is that it gives every councilmember the opportunity to be accountable to your neighborhood. If you see issues, try to address those issues with the City, and ensure we keep our city clean.
