Mayor, City Council & City Manager
The new "Daylighting Law" prohibits parking within 20 feet of any crosswalk came into effect Januaiy 1, 2025. What is the City's plan to enforce this new law? I have yet to see any intersections being red lined for no pai·king within 20 feet of the intersection/crosswalk.
People ai·e still parking right along the intersection making it impossible to see around to assure it's safe to pull out into the intersection.

Thank you for raising awareness about the challenges faced by people with developmental disabilities.
This is particularly important now because the budget bill recently passed by the House of Representatives adds to those challenges by making cuts to Medicaid, the main source of funding for medical and support services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
So, in addition to passing this Proclamation, I hope you will use your position to oppose cuts to Medicaid that will make it more difficult for people with developmental disabilities to live happy and healthy lives in their communities.
Respectfully,
Sandy Brillhart

Thank you for considering this Proclamation for Women’s History Month.
Unfortunately, the policies of the current administration threaten women’s reproductive rights, access to healthcare, equal educational opportunities, equal pay and employment opportunities, and protections against gender based violence and harassment. Women now have fewer rights and opportunities than we did just a few years ago.
So, in addition to passing this Proclamation, I hope you will speak out against policies that reverse the progress that women fought so hard for over the years.
Respectfully,
Sandy Brillhart

Pickleball Location (11a)

In my opinion, a good location for pickleball courts is at the skatepark area. Four comis can be installed in the same size as a tennis comi area. A good design for comis is how they did it at Cays Park.
Four comis would be ideal, will allow for more people to use the comis and will be easier to schedule. It's recommended a total area of 30 feet by 60 feet per pickleball comi, including space around the comi. The size needed for four comis is 60 feet wide by 120 feet long.
Why not build four courts instead of just two comis when it won't take that much more space and have more comis available for people to play.

Thanks to staff for providing this informative update.
Each of these projects is important and will make the City more safe and sustainable.
Unfortunately, the new administration in Washington is making random, widespread cuts to federal agencies and is attempting to freeze already approved funding to grant recipients for environmental, transportation and housing programs and projects such as those included in this update and Item 8d on the Consent Calendar.
Please use your voice on Council and your committee assignments to oppose these actions, protect already allocated federal funding, including pass throughs, and collect data to support existing and future funding opportunities for important climate, multimodal transportation and housing programs.
Respectfully,
Sandy Brillhart
