My name is Donna MacKersie, and I've owned and resided in homes in IB since 1993. I am always surprised that a town like this does not have one large stage venue for concerts and dozens of other uses. THE PERFECT

LOCATION WOULD BE ON THE WESTERNMOST END OF IB BOULEVARD IN THE LARGELY VACANT NORTHWEST LOT. (I used to walk from my home near 5th and Elm down to this intersection and watch the ocean, as well as people feeding little squirrels on the rocks below, but haven't seen them lately!) The Salty Frog is really the only music venue, but it's so tiny and isn't a place where other events could be held. A beautiful venue there would be loved by our people and would create income for the City and it's bars and restaurants. And of course with the right bands or other entertainment there, lots of out-of-towners would also attend. Although my profession before I retired was
as a legal assistant to many local San Diego law fiirms, music has always been huge in my life, and I still attend many concerts of classic rock, blues, traditional jazz, and an occasional symphony concert, and I also enjoy live stand-up comedy shows. Such a venue could offer a place for symphonies to play as well as small bands, and of course comedians and other type acts would love to work there. I've played piano since I was 7 years of age, played percussion in the symphony orchestra in Duluth, Minnesota, where I was born and raised, and most recently played keys at local blues jams, and even though I'm 76 years of age, I'm kind of considering getting back into it! I know of lots of great bands that would love to play here. I'm sure I'd be able to help around the venue too if possible -- I'd enjoy it, and it would be easy because I live so near. I apologize for writing so much, but I honestly think this would be a WONDERFUL IMPORTANT addition to IB! Feel free to email me if you'd like to discuss this. Thank you so much for all your great continuing work and for considering this idea. -- Donna MacKersie,
