ROLL CALL
Mayor Sanders convened the Special Council Meeting at 1:00 p.m. on May 28, 2024, in the City Hall, Council Chamber.
A motion was made by Council Member Peabody, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Whitman to Excuse for Cause Council Member Dana Reed from today's meeting. The motion carried by the following vote:
AYES- 4 - Griffith, Peabody, Sanders, Whitman
NOES: 0 -
EXCUSED: 1 - Reed
B. APPROVAL OF THE FINAL AGENDA
It was the CONSENSUS of the City Council to Approve the Agenda as Summitted.

No public comments.
D. GENERAL BUSINESS
Special Council Minutes- May 28, 2024
2 D.1 Sponsorship for Live with Kelly & Mark Morning Show City Manager Christopher Freeland provided information on sponsorship opportunities for the Live with Kelly and Mark Morning Show. Visit Greater Palm Springs Director of Indian Wells Tourism Samuel Thompson provided additional information relating to the sponsorship and clarified no involvement with the venue selection. Council Members raised several questions and concerns relating to the sponsorship.
Ms. Olga Orloff, Mr. Michael Shea, and Mr. Bill Sullivan submitted written comments. Mr. John O'Hea expressed concerns relating to the $200,00 sponsorship request.
After extensive discussion, the Council decided to tentatively approve the sponsorship, subject to further due diligence.
It was determined to tentatively APPROVE the Live with Kelly & Mark Show sponsorship request subject to the collection of marketing data information, benefits, advertising, and additional logistic support; and
APPROVE a supplemental appropriation of $200,000 for Fiscal Year 2024-25.
A motion was made by Mayor Sanders, seconded by Council Member Griffith to Approve the Recommendation. The motion carried by the following vote:
AYES: 3 - Griffith, Sanders, Whitman
NOES: 1 - Peabody
EXCUSED: 1 - Reed
