City Council Special Meeting Minutes

Mayor Waymond Fermon called to order the virtual special meeting of the City Council for the City of Indio at 5:07 p.m.
1. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
Present:
Mayor Waymond Fermon*
Mayor Pro Tem Oscar Ortiz*
Councilmember Glenn Miller*
Councilmember Elaine Holmes*
Absent:
Councilmember Lupe Ramos Amith* (joined the meeting at 5:20 p.m.) *Consistent with Government Code Section 54953(e) (Assembly Bill 361), members of the Indio City Council and City Staff are permitted to attend the meeting by teleconference and such teleconference locations are not accessible to the public and are not subject to special posting requirements.
City Staff Present:
*Bryan H. Montgomery, City Manager, *Rob Rockwell, Asst. City Manager & Dir. Of Finance, *Steven Graham, City Attorney, and *Sabdi Sanchez, City Clerk Administrator
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE led by Steven Graham, City Attorney
3. ACTION ITEMS
3.1 Adopt Resolution No. 10324, appointing the qualified candidates as elected for Councilmember Districts 2 and 4 as a result of having only one qualified candidate for each office during the nomination period for the November 8, 2022, General Municipal Election; or continue to hold the election for Councilmember Districts 2 and 4 with one qualified candidate for each contest for the November 8, 2022, General Municipal Election
Sabdi Sanchez, City Clerk Administrator presented the Staff Report.
Discussion ensued.
Motion made by Councilmember Glenn Miller, seconded by Councilmember Elaine Holmes to approve Resolution No. 10324, as presented by Roll Call. 3/2. Mayor Pro Tem Oscar Ortiz and Mayor Fermon opposed.
