5 Charlene Sanders, District 1 Resident, spoke about an issue she noticed on December 23, 2023. She stated that she noticed water running in the yard next to her on Buckthorn, one of the main thoroughfares into SoFi Stadium. She also noted the water kept coming out, and it looked like a lake because it was running down the curbside. Charlene added that she witnessed feces coming out all over the place, and by December 26, 2023, the issue had worsened. She mentioned calling the Inglewood Police Department (IPD) and Council Member Gray ’s assistant. She also noted that IPD called her back and told her that they would send someone out. Charlene addressed Councilwoman Gray ’s assistant, who called her back when she returned from out of town. She called the Public Works Department, which went to the location. She discussed how devastating it was to witness what she saw, and every time people flushed their toilets, it spread everywhere. Charlene also discussed her concern about what was happening in the City of Inglewood because some owners are not taking care of the places where tenants live. Finally, she explained that there was a new company that had been taking care of the property, and this was a result of gentrification.

Council Member Gray left the dais at the hour of 2:23 p.m.
