Speaker (Name Unknown) mentioned that he was a real estate professional in Los Angeles who served the Inglewood community. He stated that he noticed disparities in February 27, 2024
9 property taxes levied against commercial real estate owners in Inglewood compared to Los Angeles and residential properties with tenant registration fees. The speaker discussed the significant rise in property expenses, utilities, insurance, and repair cost s over the past three years, whereas the rent increases in Inglewood outpace those in Los Angeles. He also discussed how the City of Inglewood outpaces its neighboring cities regarding the cost of property taxes levied and tenant registration fees. He explained his understanding of the importance of some capital being directed toward law enforcement and other municipal services, but his clients felt they were being unfairly burdened with the city ’s fees. The speaker also explained how his clients are limited and outpaced by rent growth.
