PUBLIC REMARKS. Mayor Butts inquired if there were any persons present who wished to address the City Council on any matter connected with City business not elsewhere considered on the Agenda.

Brandie Keith, Outreach Team for South Coast Air Quality Management District Representative, introduced herself and stated that she represented the South Bay. She noted that wildfire season was coming and wanted to raise awareness regarding the effects of air quality on your health, even miles away. Brandie also stated that their website had resources available to check the current air quality and tips for protecting your health before, after, and during a wildfire crisis. Finally, she mentioned signing up to receive air quality alerts and provided their web address.

Scott Schwatzski, a long-time resident of Inglewood, raised concerns about parking issues during stadium events. He mentioned that parking during events is a major problem for his tenants as well as their guests, as there is not enough space to park on the streets. He also noted instances where guests had to double park in the building's driveway, which led to difficulties for emergency vehicles to pass through. Scott expressed the need for implementing changes to ensure that people park at the stadium instead. He recounted an instance when he went to City Hall on a Monday and found no parking available due to Monday Night Football. Scott emphasized the urgent need for change to address these parking issues.

June 25, 2024
10 Speaker (Name U nknown) addressed the great things happening in the community. The speaker highlighted Ms. Mary from Rogers Park for her outstanding job in hiring summer staff, particularly black college students who returned to give back to the community and inspire the youth. The speaker also emphasized their tutoring program, which has been running in the City for 13 years without support. He noted that the program was expanding within and outside the City of Inglewood and expressed a desire for the City's support.

Specifically, he mentioned the need for a round table discussion on budgets, rather than just showing up at events to take pictures. The speaker also discussed the grants their program had received to bring services to schools, but explained that the district couldn't afford to assign them to six schools without a Request for Proposal (RFP). He urged the City to support various opportunities as the program grows, emphasizing the need for education for students. Finally, he asked for a partnership with the City and thanked the Council for their time.

There being no further business to be presented, Mayor Butts declared the meeting adjourned in the honor of Andrew Pontius, Los Angeles County Firefighter , at the hour of 2:41 p.m.

Approved this 9 th day of September , 2024 .
