Dear City Clerk:

Please read aloud my comments or otherwise inform the city council of the following, as per your current policy:

Regarding the certification of election results, I just want to congratulate Armando Carmona for a campaign that was run cleanly, and for a victory well-earned and deserved. Far too often, campaigns emphasize the negative, so it was refreshing to see an effort that appealed to the better angels of our nature. Congratulations to councilmember Carmona and to the Jurupa Valley community.

Hello,

I am writing on behalf of the Inland Coalition for Immigrant Justice, a coalition that convenes organizations to improve the lives of immigrants in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. We want to congratulate the city of Jurupa Valley for its new leadership. We want to specifically congratulate Armando Carmona. We are looking forward to working with Armando and the city of Jurupa Valley in extending protections for street vendors and immigrant families. The city of Jurupa Valley has the opportunity to set an example for the rest of the Inland Empire by protecting its residents lifestyle and land from corporate greed. We are hopeful that Armando and the rest of the council will stand for the community! Please do not hesitate to reach out.

Subject: Agenda item #9, Swearing in of Armando Carmona I am writing this tonight to celebrate the election of a member of our Historic Mira Loma Group to the Jurupa Valley City Council, Armando Carmona, an election I was proud and honored to be a part of.

Armando and his wife need to be recognized for their hard work, sacrifice and exceptional perseverance to help get our community this victory. They endured alot and we are grateful. There were many others who put in hours and hours of campaigning to win this election and their dedication and passion shows what a grass roots effort can do and that is to elect a community leader to be a member of the City Council. Armando won every precinct and won by a landslide. I believe we have in Armando someone who speaks for our community, speaks for our rural, equestrian, ranch lifestyle, speaks for responsible not un-tethered development, speaks for serving the under-served. It is an historic moment that we celebrate tonight and my hope is for the city council to respect our newly elected council member and work together to bring about the many needed improvements to our city. Thank you. Gary and Deanna Conner.
