City Council Meeting
April 09, 2024
1. CALL TO ORDER:
Regular Meeting called to order at 6:00pm by Mayor LeBarre.
2. ROLL CALL:
City Council: Mayor Mike LeBarre, Council member Carlos DeLeon, Mayor Pro Tem Carlos Victoria, Council member Rob Cullen, Council members Oscar Avalos.
City Staff: City Manager Steve Adams; City Attorney Roy Santos (remote); City Clerk, Erica Sonne.
3. FLAG SALUTE:
The flag salute was led by Mayor LeBarre.
4. CLOSED SESSION ANNOUNCEMENTS:
None
5. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS:
A. Swearing in of Michael Hernandez, New Police Officer, by Chief Hunt. Officer Hernandez was pinned by his wife.
B. Presentation of Monterey County Fire Chief's Association Certificate of Recognition to Johnny Nuno. Unfortunately this item needed to be postponed due to illness.
C. 2024 Facilities Master Plan Update - Sherrie Casellanos, Chief Business Official with South Monterey Joint Union High School District with a PowerPoint presentation. Board members were present and spoke in favor. City Council is in favor as well.
6. PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS:
Liz Hall with Waste Management stated that they are having a drop-off day. First drop-off event of the year at Salinas Valley Fair from 8-10:30a.m. or until containers are full. Hazardous waste will have a bin as well. Next event is June 22nd

Council Member DeLeon stated he had nothing to report tonight.
Mayor Pro Tem Victoria stated he had nothing to report tonight.
Council Member Cullen stated Clean-up day is Saturday. Monterey County Business Council is April 26th and he and his wife will be attending. He heard that Greenfield has an ordinance on Noise from exhaust systems and uses decibel readers. He asked the council is that is something King City may want to look into. The consensus was yes. Staff was asked to look into it.
Council Member Avalos stated that April 20t is Fair Kick Off and tickets are still available. Ms. Salinas Valley Fair is from King City.
Mayor LeBarre stated he had nothing tonight.
8. CITY STAFF REPORTS AND COMMENTS:
City Manager Adams stated he had nothing tonight.
City Attorney Santos had nothing to report tonight.

Consideration: Meeting Minutes of March 26, 2024, Council Meeting Consideration: City of King Check Register March 16, through March 31, 2024 Consideration: Acceptance of AB 2766 Motor Vehicle Emissions Reduction Program Grant for the Broadway Street/ San Antonio Drive Roundabout Project D. Consideration: Agreement with See Monterey for Membership in the Monterey County Destination Marketing Organization
E. Consideration: City of King KCCP Payments for the Month of March 2024 F. Consideration: Flashing Crosswalk Warning Sign Project Action: Motion to approve consent agenda items A -F by Cullen seconded by Avalos.

A. Consideration: Resolution in Support of the Fair Housing Act of 1968 and Furthering Fair Housing Community Development Director Liberto introduced this item.
Action: Motion to adopt a Resolution in support of the Fair Housing Act of 1968 and furthering fair housing by Cullen, seconded by Avalos.

Mayor LeBarre adjourned the meeting at 6:43p.m. to closed session and adjourned the meeting at 7:28p.m.
