Recommendation: adopt a Resolution appointing Vanessa Meldahl and Ken Reese to the Budget Advisory Committee and Rosalba Savage to the Police Advisory Committee.

RE: CONSIDERATION OF APPOINTMENTS TO BUDGET ADVISORY
COMMITTEE AND POLICE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended the City Council adopt a Resolution appointing Vanessa Meldahl and Ken Reese to the Budget Advisory Committee and Rosalba Savage to the Police Advisory Committee.
BACKGROUND:
There are currently 2 existing vacancies on the Budget Advisory Committee and 4 vacancies on the Police Advisory Committee.
DISCUSSION:
The City has received applications from the individuals who are recommended for appointments, which are attached. Staff have contacted each of the individuals to discuss their interest and background and believe they are all highly qualified for these positions.
COST ANALYSIS:
There is no cost impact from the recommended action.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW:
This matter is not a “project” for the purposes of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as it does not have the potential for resulting in either a direct physical change to the environment, or a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment. No further action is required under CEQA for City Council action.
RESOLUTION NO. 2025-5043
A RESOLUTION OF CITY COUNCIL OF CITY OF KING, CALIFORNIA
APPOINTING VANESSA MELDAHL AND KEN REESE TO THE BUDGET ADVISORY
COMMITTEE AND ROSALBA SAVAGE TO THE POLICE ADVISORY COMMITTEE WHEREAS, consistent with the State Law, City of King Municipal Code and City Charter, City Council has the authority to appoint representatives to the City of King advisory bodies; and WHEREAS, there are currently vacancies on the Budget Advisory Committee and Police Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, the vacancies were duly publicized to the community; and WHEREAS, applications have been reviewed and applicants determined to be qualified and recommended; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of King, California that Vanessa Meldahl and Ken Reese are hereby appointed to the Budget Advisory Committee and Rosalba Savage to the Police Advisory Committee.
