City Council Special Meeting
March 11, 2026
1. CALL TO ORDER:
Special Meeting called to order at 12:28pm by Mayor LeBarre.
2. ROLL CALL:
City Council: Mayor Mike LeBarre, Mayor Pro Tem Carlos DeLeon (Absent), Council member Robert Cullen, Council member Carlos Victoria (Absent), Council members Oscar Avalos City Staff: City Manager José Arreola, Chief Robert Masterson; City Clerk Erica Sonne; Human Resources Manager Veronica Contreras, Accounting Tech Josefina Deniz; Executive Assistant Adriana Granados
3. Special Presentations
A. Mayor Mike LeBarre, new City Manager Jose Arreola and Police Chief Robert Masterson will provide an update on the City's efforts and plans.
Mayor LeBarre introduced Colonel Jason McKenzie who spoke of an upcoming event.
Mayor LeBarre gave an update on the State of the City with mentioning the multimodal and housing going in and Broadway going through to a new housing development that has been in to works for years. He also mentioned about the sewer billing and what the payment of sewer is going to for down at the wastewater treatment plant.
New City Manager Jose Arreola spoke on what he sees in the future for King City and what he wants to work on.
Chief Robert Masterson spoke on crime percentages, sworn staffing shortages and the passing of Sergeant Ryan Kennedy last year.
There were questions about the sewer system and the purple pipe system; Housing specifically senior housing; a hotel possibility; the old Rite Aid building; security cameras and the roundabout project.
ADJOURNMENT:
Mayor LeBarre adjourned the meeting at 1:18p.m.
