REGULAR MEETING OF THE
LA MIRADA CITY COUNCIL
SEPTEMBER 27, 2022 - 6:30 P.M.
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Otero called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, La Mirada City Hall, 13700 La Mirada Boulevard, La Mirada, California.
INVOCATION
The invocation was delivered by Deacon Paul Machuca of Beatitudes of Our Lord Church.
Phe Pledge of Allegiance was led by a representative of VEW Post 9148.
ROLL CALL
City Council was present with Councilmember Eng, Councilmember Lewis, Councilmember Sarega, Mayor Pro Tem De Ruse, and Mayor Otero responding to roll call.
The following staff members were also present: City Manager Jeff Boynton, Assistant City Manager/City Clerk Anne Haraksin, and City Attorney Craig Fox.
5. APPEARANCES, PRESENTATIONS, AND PROCLAMATIONS
5.1 PROCLAMATION FOR NATIONAL HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH
The City Council proclaimed September 15 through October 15, 2022 as National Hispanic Heritage Month in the City of La Mirada and the Mayor, on behalf of the City council, presented a proclamation to Rich Trujillo.
6. PUBLIC COMMENT
There were no public comments.
APPOINTMENTS
7.1 RED THE A RADA MUNITY FOUNDATIONIES COMMISSION
Councilmember Eng moved and Councilmember Lewis seconded to reappoint Desiree Johnson to the Community Services Commission for a term expiring in June 2024 and reappoint Hal Malkin to the La Mirada Community Foundation for a term expiring in May 2023.

Mayor Pro Tem De Ruse moved and Councilmember Sarega seconded to approve the following consent calendar items:
8.1 APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES
The City Council approved the minutes of the Study Session meeting of September 13, 2022 and the minutes of the regular City Council meeting of September 13, 2022.
8.2 APPROVAL OF WARRANT REGISTER
The City Council approved the warrant register dated September 27, 2022 in the total amount of $1,866,584.58.
APPROVAL OF FACILITY USE FOR THE KIWANIS CLUB OF
LA MIRADA FUNDRAISING EVENT
The City Council approved the request for use of Splash! La Mirada Regional Aquatics Center for the Kiwanis Club of La Mirada fundraiser event and waived all rental fees with the associated use.
8.4 INVESTMENT REPORT FOR THE CITY OF LA MIRADA FOR THE MONTH ENDING AUGUST 2022
The City Council received and filed the City's Investment Report for the month ending August 2022.

Councilmember Lewis moved and Councilmember Eng seconded to approve the following consent calendar item:
9.1 APPROVAL OF WARRANT REGISTER
The Successor Agency approved the warrant register dated September 27, 2022 in the total amount of $1,250,799.21.
