5.1 RECOGNITION OF A CITY EMPLOYEE FOR YEARS OF SERVICE - It is recommended the City Council recognize Paul Castillo for his years of service and present him with a service award pin and a certificate of appreciation.

5.2 INTRODUCTION OF A NEW FULL-TIME CITY EMPLOYEE - It is recommended the City Council welcome Blanca Nunez and present her with a $40 gift certificate to Panera Bread restaurant, a voucher for two tickets to the La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts, and two passes to Splash! La Mirada Regional Aquatics Center.

7.2 APPROVAL OF WARRANT REGISTER - It is recommended the City Council approve the warrant register dated March 26, 2024 in the total amount of $1,996,343.65.

7.3 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 2022-02, SLURRY SEAL OF ROSECRANS AVENUE FROM VALLEY VIEW AVENUE TO EAST CITY LIMITS, LA MIRADA BOULEVARD FROM LEFFINGWELL ROAD TO ALONDRA BOULEVARD, AND HILLSBOROUGH DRIVE FROM BEACH BOULEVARD TO EAST CITY LIMITS – REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT - It is recommended the City Council award the contract for Capital Improvement Project No. 2022-02, Slurry Seal of Rosecrans Avenue from Valley View Avenue to East City Limits, La Mirada Boulevard from Leffingwell Road to Alondra Boulevard, and Hillsborough Drive from Beach Boulevard to East City Limits, to Roy Allan Slurry Seal, Inc. in the amount of $1,032,261.06; authorize the City Manager to execute the contract on behalf of the City; authorize the City Manager to approve addendums to the existing on-call engineering contracts for construction inspection and testing services in an amount not to exceed 20 percent of the construction cost; and authorize the City Manager to approve additional work up to 20 percent of the construction cost.

7.4 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 2022-09, CITY HALL ROOF REPLACEMENT – REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT - It is recommended the City Council award the contract for Capital Improvement Project No. 2022-09, City Hall Roof Replacement, to Chapman Coast Roof Company, Inc., in the amount of $838,698; authorize the City Manager to execute the contract on behalf of the City; authorize the City Manager to approve addendums to the existing on-call engineering contracts for construction support services in an amount not to exceed 20 percent of the construction cost; and authorize the City Manager to approve additional work up to 20 percent of the total construction cost.

7.5 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 2021-08, CREEK PARK VEHICLE BRIDGE REPLACEMENT - REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT - It is recommended the City Council award the contract for Capital Improvement Project No. 2021-08, Creek Park Vehicle Bridge Replacement, to Los Angeles Engineering, Inc., in the amount of $1,798,000; authorize the City Manager to execute the contract on behalf of the City; authorize the City Manager to approve addendums to the existing on-call engineering contracts for construction support services in an amount not to exceed 20 percent of the construction cost; and authorize the City Manager to approve additional work up to 20 percent of the total construction cost.

7.6 AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR THE INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATION FIREWORKS DISPLAY - It is recommended the City Council approve the selection of Fireworks & Stage FX America to produce the fireworks display for the Independence Celebration event in the amount of $26,000 and authorize the City Manager to execute the agreement with Fireworks & Stage FX America, on behalf of the City.
