BACKGROUND
It is the practice of the City Council to introduce new City staff and contract employees that have become part of the City team. This gives the City Council an opportunity to officially welcome and recognize new staff members. This evening, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Captain Omar Camacho is being introduced as the new Captain of Norwalk Sheriff's Station. As Captain of Norwalk Station, he is responsible for overseeing the personnel and operations of the Sheriff's Department serving the cities of La Mirada, Norwalk and various unincorporated Los Angeles County neighborhoods.

FINDINGS
Prior to Captain Camacho's promotion to Norwalk Sheriff's Station Captain, he served in several key assignments including Executive Aide to the Assistant Sheriff, where he helped lead major projects and strategic planning efforts. His experience also includes leadership roles in the Homicide Bureau, Internal Affairs Bureau, Lakewood Station, Century Station, and the Narcotics Bureau.
