SUBJECT: CITY COUNCIL APPOINTMENTS TO VARIOUS AGENCIES
BACKGROUND
City Councilmembers serve on various regional agencies on the City's behalf.
Typically, Council assignments to these agencies occur following the reorganization of the City Council.
FINDINGS
It would be appropriate for the Mayor to consider revising the appointments to some of the following agencies requiring representation from the City Council:
• California Contract Cities Association
• Chamber of Commerce
• City-School District Subcommittee (2 Members)
• County Sanitation District No. 18 (Mayor is automatically delegate, need alternate) • Gateway Cities Council of Governments (COG)
• 1-5 JPA Consortium
• Joint Powers Insurance Authority (Mayor is automatically delegate, need alternate) • La Mirada Audit Committee (2 Members)
• La Mirada Athletic Council Appeals Board (2 Members)
• League of California Cities
• Los Angeles County City Selection Committee (Mayor is automatically delegate, need alternate
• Southeast Area Social Services Funding Authority (SASSFA) • Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG)
RECOMMENDED ACTION
It is recommended the Mayor make the appointments of delegates and alternates to the various organizations on which members of the City Council participate.
