SUBJECT: CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 2023-04, BEHRINGER PARK TURF RENOVATION – ACCEPTANCE OF WORK
BACKGROUND
On May 13, 2025, the City Council awarded Capital Improvement Project No. 2023-04, Behringer Park Turf Renovation, to Marina Landscape, Inc. in the amount of $4,339,447.50, and authorized the City Manager to approve additional work up to 20 percent of the total project cost.
The project includes the installation of a new irrigation mainline, pumps and control system, site grading and drainage system, and new natural turf.
FINDINGS
The final cost of the project is $4,471,300.20. A net increase of $131,852.70 was the result of nine Contract Change Orders approved by the City Manager under the authority granted by City Council at the time of contract award.
Marina Landscape, Inc. has completed the work in substantial conformance with the plans and specifications. A final inspection of the improvements has been conducted and the project is complete.
RECOMMENDED ACTION
It is recommended the City Council:
1. Accept the improvements constructed by Marina Landscape, Inc.;
2. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion with the County Recorder; and
3. Authorize the payment of retention monies pursuant to the agreement.
