CALL TO ORDER
Mayor N. Patel called the Special Meeting of the La Palma City Council and Chair Paningsoro called the meeting to order for the Community Activities and Beautification ( CAB) Committee at 5: 02 p. m. in the La Palma Community Center Fan Palm Room, 7821 Walker Street, La Palma, California.
CAB Chair Paningsoro and CAB Vice Chair Frese arrived at 5: 01 p. m. Council Member Keo Conklin arrived at 5. 04 p. m.
OPEN SESSION TO BEGIN AT 5: 00 P. M.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mayor N. Patel led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Mayor N. Patel called for public comment. Seeing no one come forward, he closed public comment.
REGULAR ITEMS
1. An Overview of CAB Committee Members' Roles and Responsibilities and Ralph M. Brown Act City Manager Kim introduced and highlighted the 2026 Council Goals.
City Attorney Thind provided a presentation, accompanied by a PowerPoint, and fielded questions from the CAB and City Council.

General discussions commenced and clarity provided regarding roles and responsibilities and the Ralph M. Brown Act.
2. Review and Discuss 2026 Community Events
The 2026 Community Events Calendar was presented and reviewed with general discussion regarding roles, responsibilities, and expectations for planning and participation in events.
3. Discussion on General Matters
Discussion commenced regarding the CAB position designated for preference to a high school student member and recruitment efforts.
