SPECIAL MEETING OF
SEPTEMBER 20, 2023

A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of La Puente was held at the La Puente Community Center, 501 N. Glendora Avenue, La Puente, California, on September 20, 2023, at 7:00 p.m.
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Klinakis called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
ROLL CALL
Members present: Klinakis, Munoz, Argudo, Mendoza, Quinones.
Members absent: None.
Staff members present: Assistant City Attorney Susie Altamirano, City Clerk Martha Torres, Director of Administrative Services Troy Grunklee, Director of Development Services John Di Mario, Director of Community Services Alexander Bauman, and Senior Code Enforcement Supervisor J.D.
Buckwell.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mayor Klinakis led the Pledge of Allegiance.
SM-1 PRESENTATION, DISCUSSION, AND DIRECTION REGARDING LA PUENTE
PARK OPERATIONS, RESERVATIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND ITEMS
RELATED THERETO
Mayor Klinakis introduced the Special Meeting agenda and introduced the La Puente Park Fees, Ordinance, and Program Oversight Ad Hoc Committee members, Mayor Pro Tem Munoz and Council Member Quinones, as the moderators for the meeting.
The following Junior All American Football & Cheer Conference Members introduced themselves: La Puente Junior All American Football & Cheer Conference President Delia Martinez, La Puente Junior All American Football & Cheer Conference Assistant Treasurer and Cheer Coordinator Pauline Trujillo, and San Gabriel Valley Junior All American Football & Cheer Conference President Guy Muniz.

The Ad Hoc Committee presented a PowerPoint presentation regarding the following list of topics:
1. La Puente Football Conference Application for reservation process
2. Addressing concerns from La Puente Football that City is attempting to push La Puente Football League to Bassett
3. Addressing concerns regarding insufficient lighting at La Puente High School
4. Addressing concerns regarding restrooms at La Puente Park
5. Addressing concerns regarding field maintenance
6. Addressing concerns regarding La Puente Snack Bar Hours
7. Addressing concerns regarding furnishing ice and water to La Puente Football team and patrons
8. Addressing concerns regarding travel ball use of La Puente Park fields
9. Addressing concerns regarding soccer field
10. Addressing concerns regarding park security
Discussion ensued between the City Council, Junior All American Football and Cheer Conference members, City Staff, and the public regarding each topic as listed above.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business before the City Council, Mayor Klinakis adjourned the meeting at 10:23 p.m.
