E-1 DISCUSSION AND DIRECTION REGARDING BUILDING LEASE OPTIONS FOR THE LA PUENTE P.R.O.S. TEAM, LA PUENTE IT DEPARTMENT, AND

GUERREROS JUDO CLUB
City Manager Lindsey provided a report regarding building lease options for the La Puente P.R.O.S. Team, La Puente IT Department, and Guerreros Judo Club.

City Manager Lindsey noted that the building is directly across from the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Station in the City of Industry. City Manager Lindsey noted that although the La Puente P.R.O.S. Team and IT Departments will continue to have a presence at City Hall, the departments need additional room for growth and storage. City Manager Lindsey also noted that this opportunity could also potentially benefit the La Puente Community Foundation and the Guerreros Judo Club.

CC/SA MINUTES PAGE 4 OF 6 JULY 9, 2024
City Manager Lindsey noted that the City could possibly lease a portion of the building for $4,000 a month, and hopefully reduce that cost to $3,500 by leasing out the additional, unused portion of the building.

Eric Sanchez from the Guerreros Judo Club spoke regarding the advantages of the prospective building lease.

In response to an inquiry from Mayor Pro Tem Klinakis regarding the proposed lease size, City Manager Lindsey stated that the City would have temporary use of the entire building if the City chose not to rent out the additional space. Mayor Pro Tem Klinakis stated that it may be beneficial to consider leasing the entire building, instead of just a portion.

Mayor Pro Tem Klinakis noted the limited parking that was available at the property. City Manager Lindsey stated that parking would need to be discussed.

Council Member Munoz noted that there may be temporary programming which would allow the City to take advantage of the full rental space.

A motion was made by Council Member Munoz, seconded by Mayor Quinones, to authorize the City Manager to enter negotiations for building lease options, for use of the full rental space, for the La Puente P.R.O.S.
