A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of La Puente was held in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 15900 East Main Street, La Puente, California, on July 30, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Klinakis called the meeting to order at 8:36 a.m.
ROLL CALL
Members present: Klinakis, Munoz, Quinones.
Members absent: Argudo, Mendoza.
Staff members present: Acting City Manager/Director of Community Services Alexander Bauman, City Attorney Susie Altamirano, City Clerk Martha Torres, Director of Development Services Abraham Tellez, and Office Specialist Karissa Rivas Bustillos

D. CITY COUNCIL AND SUCCESSOR AGENCY CONSENT CALENDAR
City Attorney Altamirano recommended that Item D.1 be subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney's Office.

A motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Munoz, seconded by Council Member Quinones, to approve Consent Calendar Item D.1. The motion carried by the following roll call vote:
AYES: Klinakis, Munoz, Quinones
NOES: None
ABSTAIN: None
ABSENT: Argudo, Mendoza.
D.1 CONSIDERATION OF AN AWARD OF CONTRACT TO KYA SERVICES LLC
UTILIZING THE CALIFORNIA MULTIPLE AWARD SCHEDULES (MAS)
CONTRACT FOR THE LA PUENTE COMMUNITY CENTER MODERNIZATION PROJECT IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,659,815.50
Action Taken: The City Council: (1) approved, as to form by the City Attorney's Office, the agreement for construction services with KYA Services LIC for facility modernization at the La Puente Community Center in the amount of $1,659,815.50; and (2) authorized the City Manager to execute the Agreement and approve change orders up to 10% of the original bid amount.

ORAL COMMENTS FROM COUNCIL
Mayor Klinakis announced that National Night Out would take place on August 4, 2026, at La Puente Park.
ORAL COMMENTS FROM STAFF
Acting City Manager/Director of Community Services Bauman thanked everyone for taking the time to attend the meeting and stated he is looking forward to the Community Center modernization project.
Director of Development Services Tellez stated that fencing and construction activity would be present at La Puente Park for the Activity Center Building project.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business before the City Council, Mayor Klinakis adjourned the meeting at 8:40 a.m.
