Cc: Jon McMillen; Laurie McGinley; Sherry Barkas; [email protected] Subject: City Council meeting for Tuesday February 18th and written public comments Distinguished colleagues , I'm writing concerning the City Council agenda for Tuesday February 18th, 2025 including item 2 the special meeting minutes from the February 6 2025 community workshop and the proposed the La Quinta Strategic Plan, business session item number one
Although I was unable to attend the workshop , I did provide written comments concerning IID which are acknowledged in the city clerk's draft minutes from the meeting.

In reviewing the strategic plan text concerning IID could I make two possible suggestions to supplement the current text: I assume that working with Riverside County also means working with the Local Agency Formation Commission, which is of, course a separate public entity
Also, there is no mention of working with the Coachella Valley Association of Governments and the potential member cities for the proposed joint powers arrangement now under review. Indeed, the participation of those cities – and the County government is an important consideration if the GPA is to achieve critical mass to be energized and put to work.

Thank you very much- and thank you for your service.

Subject: Late comments on Kennedy Market renovation
I am so sorry. I kept forgetting to do this in time. So I know the comments may not make it.

I love the idea of you making recommendations to Riverside on this. Kennedy Market is a great place. The food is amazing. It will be a great place for La Quinta to eventually have as a nice casual place to go.

My comment is to let you know my biggest issue is on parking and traffic safety. So many landscapers, pool people, contractors, etc. stop in to get lunch. There must be an easy and safe way for trucks with trailers to easily park and pull out, preferably forward as opposed to backing out. Especially since I do expect that patrons will double with the renovation. And it is a one lane road at that point.

Can something be done to provide a separate parking area for the trucks with trailers? Spots will also need to be wider to accommodate wider vehicles. I don't know if there can be separate car and truck parking.

Thank you again for reviewing Kennedy Market!
