Good Afternoon,
I have lived in La Quinta for going on 9 years, full time, and have a Busy Internal Medicine medical practice, employed by Desert Oasis Healthcare. I live near Washington and Ave 50 and drive down Washington to the 10 freeway every day to travel to work. I was interested in opening satellite office in the La Quinta Medical Center, who have multiple empty suites available. But would not consider the expenditure and move with the falling down construction in the dilapidated building right next door. It is an eyesore and a graffiti magnet. It really distracts form the beaty of our city. We all pay a lot to live here, and this eyesore has been in the same state of disrepair for many years, as long as I can remember. I have reached out to Jon McMillan several times, without any answers. The last email I received after at least a year of inquiries said, " Great News, The building is going to be completed." That was months ago, nothing has changed. I also sent two emails to the mayor Linda Evans, with no response at all. For me and all those who pay taxes to support these public servants(some of whom are elected by the people), this is unacceptable, to just be ignored is disrespectful. I understand there were complications with the building as in death of one of the early owners, but that was years ago. Something needs to be done, either finish it (IN A TIMELY MANNER), or tear it down. Please given an update and timeline for completion or tear down. Please exhibit some accountability Thank you.
