3. Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mayor Hepburn.
4. Bonita High School Girls' Mayor Hepburn, on behalf of the City Council, introduced and congratulated Softball 2022 the Bonita High School Girls Softball Team. The Team nished with an overall recordof 28-6-1. The 28 wins markedthe mostwins in BonitaSoftballhistory.
The softballteam went 13-2 in league, were PalomaresLeagueChampions, aswellasthe Division3 CIFChampions, andbecamethefirstsoftballteamin schoolhistorytowinCIF. Inthe1stRoundofCIF, thegirlsdefeatedEIRancho 9- 2. In the 2nd Roundthe girls defeatedKennedyHighSchool5-0 and Brooklyn Shroyer threw a perfect game with 12 strikeouts. In the Quarter- nalsroundthegirlsdefeatedSunnyHills2-1, withAlyssaDoucettehittinga 2- run home run in the bottom of the 6th inning. In the semi- finals, the girls defeatedTemescalCanyon4-1 and in the CIF Championshipgame, the girls defeated Tesoro 6-0 and were the only team in the championships with a shutout win. BonitaSoftballalso went on to compete in the Division2 State ChampionshipswheretheydefeatedRanchoBuenaVistaHighSchoolfrom SanDiego5-2, beforetheyweredefeatedbyTorranceHighSchoolin the regional semi- finals 3- 2. Brooklyn Shroyer was the Palomares League MVP, theSanGabrielValleyPlayeroftheYear, aswellasthePrep210SportsCo- Player of the Year with Alyssa Doucette. The Bearcats were coached by DarrenBaumunk, Jeff Butler, Phillip Phong, and Wendy Crawford.
Each of the coaches were presented with a certificate of recognition and each of the team players were presented with an In- n- Out gift card.
