Recap of Minutes
PRESENT: Commissioners: Donna Ballard, Michael Ervin, Joan Gladstone, Pat Kollenda, Sindi Schwartz, Adam Schwerner, Carl Smith, and Nicole Strathman.
STAFF: Sian Poeschl, Cultural Arts Manager and Michael McGregor, Arts Program Coordinator COUNCIL: Councilmember Sue Kempf
1) Donna Ballard called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.
Temporary Installation – Art and Nature (Laguna Art Museum) – Staff Poeschl provided an overview of the proposal and introduced artist Ana Teresa Fernandez. Ms. Fernandez and Victoria Gerard, Deputy Director at Laguna Art Museum, presented the installation proposal and events schedule for “SOS” to take place at Main Beach. Pat Kollenda recommended utilizing local artist resources to add musical activations. Staff Poeschl noted that there was a contingency to delay the program in the event of bad weather. A motion was made to recommend approval to the City Council of the Laguna Art Museum temporary installation and activations at Main Beach, titled “SOS” by artist Ana Teresa Fernandez installed November 6, through November 10, 2025. Motion: Kollenda.
Second: Schwerner. Recused: Smith. Yeas: Ballard, Ervin, Gladstone, Kollenda, Schwartz, Schwerner, Strathman. Noes: None.
