Recap of Minutes
PRESENT: Commissioners: Donna Ballard, Michael Ervin, Joan Gladstone, Sindi Schwartz, Adam Schwerner, Carl Smith, and Nicole Strathman.
ABSENT: Commissioner: Pat Kollenda.
STAFF: Siân Poeschl, Cultural Arts Manager, and Karen Wood, Public Art Coordinator 1) Michael Ervin called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. 2026 Performance Dates – Staff Poeschl presented the proposed annual performance programming for 2026 which included Sunset Serenades (Spring and Fall) , Music in the Park, Circus Bella and the Promenade on Forest live music. Staff noted that due to the anticipated construction at the Promenade, musicians had been informed that there would be no bookings until at least July 1, 2026 which would result in savings in the Commission budget. Staff also noted the Laguna Beach Unified School District Calendar and the scheduling of Music in the Park. Commissioner Strathman clarified the LBUSD calendar in which she had been involved. A motion was made to approve the schedule as presented and in reviewing the schedule in 2026 to consider the LBUSD calendar and discuss reducing Music in the Park by one concert at the end of the schedule. Motion: Schwerner, Second: Strathman. Yeas: Ballard, Ervin, Gladstone, Schwartz, Schwerner, Smith, Strathman.
