RESOLUTION NO. 13.001
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAGUNA
BEACH, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF
OAK STREET AND BROOKS STREET FROM TEMPLE TERRACE TO
CATALINA STREET EACH HALLOWEEN
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Laguna Beach is aware that the portion of 8 Oak Street and Brooks Street between Temple Terrace and Catalina Street has become a 9 popular community event for Halloween activities; and 10 WHEREAS, it is estimated that more than 800 people attended the event during 11 Halloween of 2012; and
12 WHEREAS, the City Council believes that it is reasonable and justified to temporarily 13 14 close Oak Street and Brooks Street from Temple Terrace to Catalina Street on Halloween each 15 year for the health, safety and general welfare of persons using the street during such Halloween 16 activities;
17 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAGUNA BEACH 18 does RESOLVE that the portion of Oak Street and Brook Street between Temple Terrace and 19 Catalina Street shall be and is approved for temporary closure each year on Halloween. 20 21
THE CITY COUNCIL does FURTHER RESOLVE that the City Manager shall be and 22 is authorized to utilize such City resources as are necessary for the temporary closure, including 23 but not limited to placement and removal of barricades and assistance with traffic control. 24 25
