Recap of Minutes
PRESENT: Commissioners: Donna Ballard, Michael Ervin, Joan Gladstone, Pat Kollenda, Sindi Schwartz, Carl Smith, and Nicole Strathman.
ABSENT: Adam Schwerner.
STAFF: Siân Poeschl, Cultural Arts Manager, Michael McGregor, Arts Program Coordinator and Karen Wood, Public Art Coordinator.
Artist Sunday – Staff Poeschl provided an overview of the mission of the Artist Sunday movement, dedicated to supporting local artists on the Sunday following Thanksgiving. Staff recommended the Arts Commission request the City Council recognize the day and encourage residents to support local artists and value their importance and contributions to the community. Staff had reached out to the Board of the Laguna Beach Arts Alliance and Sawdust Art Festival who supported the recommended action. A motion was made to recommend the City Council approve a proclamation acknowledging Artist Sunday as presented. Motion:
