PROCLAMATION RECOGNIZING
THE 2025 COAST FILM & MUSIC FESTIVAL
WHEREAS, the City of Laguna Beach has long been recognized as a vibrant community that celebrates creativity, culture, and the natural beauty that surrounds it; and WHEREAS, the Coast Film & Music Festival, now in its seventh year, continues Laguna Beach's proud tradition of supporting the arts by showcasing films, music, and stories that connect people to the outdoors, the ocean, and one another; and WHEREAS, the Festival has become a premier cultural event that attracts filmmakers, musicians, athletes, environmental leaders, and audiences of all ages to share stories that highlight the beauty of our planet and the importance of protecting it; and WHEREAS, the Coast Film & Music Festival not only reflects Laguna Beach's values of community, creativity, and conservation but also amplifies the city's reputation as a global destination for art, film, and environmental storytelling, drawing visitors from across the globe; and
WHEREAS, the Festival is championing the effort to bring live music back to the historic Irvine Bowl, beginning with two sold-out concerts featuring Jack Johnson & Friends, reigniting Laguna Beach's legacy as a home for world-class live performance and community celebration; and
WHEREAS, the Festival provides educational programs for students, supports emerging filmmakers, and uplifts the next generation of artists, filmmakers, and changemakers; and WHEREAS, the Festival's commitment to sustainability — including efforts to reduce waste, promote alternative transportation, and provide refillable water stations — reflects our shared values of environmental stewardship and community responsibility; and WHEREAS, the City of Laguna Beach recognizes the Festival's continued contributions to the local economy, its partnerships with local businesses, schools, environmental organizations, and nonprofits, and its role in strengthening our sense of community and shared purpose; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED that the City Council of the City of Laguna Beach does hereby recognize and commend the Coast Film Foundation for its outstanding contributions to arts, culture, and environmental awareness, and extends its heartfelt appreciation to all those who make this annual celebration possible.
BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED that the City of Laguna Beach proudly recognizes the Coast Film & Music Festival as an annual celebration of creativity, community, and environmental storytelling, and declares it an enduring part of our city's cultural heritage-an event that strengthens the fabric of our community and continues to inspire all who attend to Come Curious, Leave Inspired.
