Thank you for your response and for explaining the procedure regarding approved City Council minutes.
My concern is not with the action taken by the Council, but rather with the description of the general topic attributed to my public comment during the October 28, 2025 meeting. The current wording does not accurately reflect the substance of what I stated.
For clarity, my comments were not limited to the topic currently reflected in the minutes.
My remarks referenced broader issues relating to ongoing litigation matters and the importance of protecting the City from potential legal exposure and unnecessary public embarrassment should related matters become more widely known. That’s why I highlighted the attachment for you
Because the public record should accurately reflect the general topic of a speaker’s comments, I respectfully request that the description of my public comment be corrected.
I understand that any revision must ultimately be considered and approved by the City Council, and I appreciate your assistance in presenting this proposed correction through the appropriate process if the Council chooses to review it.
Thank you again for your time and attention to maintaining an accurate public record.
Sincerely,
Edward Bayuk

Once meeting minutes have been approved by the City Council, they become part of the official public record. As such, any request to revise or correct approved minutes must be brought before and acted upon by the City Council itself — staff does not have the authority to unilaterally amend the approved record.
Also, please note that the City Council minutes are action minutes, which simply capture the action taken by the Council. Public comments are simply noted with the speaker and the general topic, not specifics.
If you feel there is an error of the general topic you spoke about (from the video at the meeting), you are welcome to suggest how the sentence should read, and the Councilmembers can advise the City Manager if they want the minutes to be placed on a future City Council agenda for the Council to consider and vote on any proposed revision to the approved minutes.
Please do not hesitate to contact our office if you have any questions about this process.
Best,

I respectfully request that the record be corrected, as I prefer not to be misquoted in the public comment record at this time, particularly as several matters referenced during that meeting may become subject to broader public and media discussion.
Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter and for ensuring the accuracy of the official city record.
Sincerely,
Edward Bayuk
