Subject: Fees to appeal to City Council
For DRB and Planning Commission
I'm so happy to see the council finally put the fees where these should be rather than subsidizing this process.

I support the new fee structure and urge the City Council to adopt this fee structure as soon as possible.

Subject: PC & DRB Appel Fees
Dear City Council,
Please support increasing the appeal fees for DRB and Planning Commission by putting them on the people who actually file the appeal rather on the owners / taxpayers.

Thank you,
Samuel Goldstein

Subject: Fwd: Only the RICH have a voice in LAGUNA!
Hello Council,
The email below is from Village Laguna. The irony is that most of its board and key decision makers are rich.

The Felders, Christoph, Jurka, etc, all have the means to pay if they believe a decision warrants an appeal.

The residents of this community who fight all remodels and builds are also rich, or they couldn't own a home here.

The fee should be roughly equivalent to one month's mortgage payment for the average home here. $6,290 is way below that. Also, these are the same activists who complain about our "bloated" budget and City salaries, yet wreak the havoc that requires us to maintain the staffing necessary to navigate the arduous system they intentionally created and continue to abuse.

Please make it difficult for them to appeal board decisions made by qualified residents appointed by a thoughtful Council elected by informed residents.

Thank you for your attention to this matter, lol
Peter
LAGUN.

Only the Rich will have a voice in Laguna!
Fees to appeal to Council to object to Design Review and other planning/zoning decisions are proposed to increase from $2,500 to $6,290.

Wasn't it only "yesterday" that these fees were $750?
Email your City Council at [email protected] Write and speak to object to these outrageous increases to be presented to Council at 3 pm, April 14.

Subject: Support for Proposed Appeal Fee Increase
Dear Council Members,
I am writing to express my support for the proposed increase in fees to appeal to the City Council regarding Design Review and other planning/zoning decisions.

It is reasonable that appellants bear a greater share of the true cost associated with the appeal process. Ensuring that these fees more accurately reflect the time, resources, and administrative burden involved helps promote a more efficient and responsible use of City resources.

While I understand that this represents a significant increase from prior years, aligning fees with actual costs is an important step in maintaining fairness and sustainability.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
William A. Shopoff
