Subject: Written Comment - City Council Meeting: South Laguna Village Green Importance: High
Dear Members of the City Council,
I am submitting my written comment for today's city council meeting. I would like my comments included in the official record for this meeting.
-
This is regarding the poor and unsafe state of South Laguna Village Green Park.

Based on this article from nearly a year ago, "Village Green Park... [fails] safety standards and pose a risk to users of these facilities. These risks include possible death loss of a limb and permanent disability as well as failing disability access standards set by the Americans with Disabilities Act." Swings are rusted and have fallen, kids equipment is "repaired" with duct tape, slides have gaps in them, and more. I kindly ask that we expedite a resolution (in collaboration with SLA) to last year's outstanding proposal and pre-approved budget. It is my understanding that we still don't have word on the recommendations from Columbia Cascade the original play equipment supplier. We need to finalize this urgently before, as the article stated, there is "death loss of a limb and permanent disability" Thank you,
Nicolas Martinez
