STAFF REPORT
Meeting Date:

May 12, 2026

STUDY SESSION
1 SUBJECT: FISCAL YEAR 2026-27 BUDGET WORKSHOP
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council:

1. Receive a presentation regarding the Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year 2025-26; and

2. Provide feedback to the City Manager on the Proposed Budget or other direction as appropriate.

SUMMARY OF THE MATTER
City staff will present and answer questions about the Proposed Budget for FY 2026-27 (Proposed Budget) at the budget workshop from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. The City Council will also consider public input and provide direction to the City Manager before adopting the budget on either June 9, 2026, or June 23, 2026 (depending on the number of changes and follow up items requested during the workshop).

The Proposed Budget is provided in Attachment 1. It is advisable for the public to review the Proposed Budget transmittal letter from the City Manager, which provides an overview of the current fiscal climate and outlines proposed changes for the upcoming fiscal year. The letter is located at the beginning of the Proposed Budget. Additionally, the recommended capital equipment and vehicle replacement list is provided as Attachment 2
Please note that, as in previous years, the Proposed Budget did not accommodate all requests, some of which will be highlighted in the presentation during the workshop.
