Subject: Proposition 218
Dear Mayor and Council members,
I am not opposed to the proposed increate in rates for trash collection.

However, I would also hope that there might be an increase in "care" in the collection of trash.

In 3 instances my trash was not collected and I had to contact the company for removal the next day. No reason given for this omission.

In many instances, when the cans are lifted, debris falls out, although I close my cans tightly. This debris then goes down to the grate in front of my house, and adds more pollution to the ocean. I suggest the sanitation workers use their brooms to sweep this up and put in the truck.

It in mot my responsibility to sweep the gutter after trash pick up. I am concerned about the lack of attention to the di s going into our oceans, when this is easily remedied by the sanitation workers.

Thoughts please?
Thank you,
Jahn Levitt

Subject: Waste / Recycling Rate increase
This rate increase is ridiculous. CR&R is not efficient at all. There are TWO individuals per truck to pickup the trash and recycle every week. They don't drive down each side of the street but pull the trash cans to one side for pickup. Waste Management used ONE person and drove on each side of the street to pickup. The individual homeowners are constantly getting scr##ed by the decision of our city officials.

I am strongly opposed to this rate increase. Bring Waste Management back.

Dear Council Members,
Please consider the senior's that put out 1 can a week when voting against them for another 4.4 % increase along with all the other bills one gets that have increased with no increases on income.

Anything that is not allowed in the trash cans has to be paid for as well which happens to be a lot. When is this going to stop, another increase in 3 mos again? Please give us a break! Barbara Rathbun

To city council,
Please, no trash rate increase for Laguna Beach. Read the room. Residents are already being squeezed by rising grocery costs, gas prices, and electricity bills. The last thing we need is another price hike.

Subject: Trash increase
Hi Ann Marie-
Please include this in public comments for the June 23 meeting. I know there is an agenda item but I'm traveling and don't have my computer. Could you put this with the trash price increase agenda item?? Thank you!
Dear City Council-
Please do not rubber stamp the price increase for trash pickup in Laguna. I understand we had to switch providers about a year ago but unless it was solidly in the contract I see no reason to further increase our trash fee from the increase this company got when we switched to them.

Please consider residents. We should not be a continual well that everyone keeps draining.

Tr. I you.
