SUBJECT: Designation of a Voting Delegate for the 2022 League of California Cities Annual Business Meeting
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council appoint Mayor Elaine Gennawey as the Voting Delegate for the 2022 League of California Cities Annual Business Meeting on September 9,2022.
BACKGROUND
The 2022 League of California Cities (Cal Cities) Annual Conference is scheduled to be held from September 7-9, 2022, in Long Beach. An important aspect of the Annual Conference is the Annual Business Meeting, which takes place during the General Assembly on the last day of the conference.
ANALYSIS
At the Annual Conference, Cal Cities membership considers and takes action on resolutions establishing Cal Cities policy. The approved resolutions guide Cal Cities in efforts to improve the quality and responsiveness of local government in California. The City Council must designate a voting delegate to vote at the annual business meeting.
Voting delegates must be registered to at least attend the Friday session of the conference. In accordance with the City Council Policies and Procedures, under Mayor and City Council, Section D, the Mayor is the designated voting delegate.

There is no fiscal impact as a result of this report.

CONCLUSION
Staff recommends that the City Council appoint Mayor Elaine Gennawey as the Voting Delegate for the 2022 League of California Cities Annual Business Meeting on September 9, 2022.
