UBJECT: Second Reading and Adoption of Ordinances Adopting by Reference the 2022 California Building Standards Code, including Local Amendments , and Related International Codes, and Resolution Making Findings that the Local Amendments Are Necessary Because of Local Climatic, Geological, or Topographical Conditions
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council continue the public hearing to the meeting of November 15, 2022, to allow staff to meet necessary legal noticing requirements.
The law requires publication of ordinance summaries at least five days prior to the meeting at which an ordinance is to be adopted. Unfortunately, that did not occur and continuing the public hearing will allow Staff to provide proper notice and maintain the validity of the ordinances. Procedures are being put in place so that this will not happen again in the future.
