Subject: Comments: Discussion Item 1

To

the

Laguna

Niguel

City

Council,

I

am

writing

regarding

Discussion

Item

1 on

tonight's

agenda.

I

am

urging

the

city

council

to

renew

the

city's

membership

to

the

League

of

California
Cities.

The

organization

is

an

important

forum

for

advocating

on

behalf

of

cities

and
sharing

best practices

and

policies.

Laguna

Niguel

should

keep

their

seat

at

this
table.

Please

vote

to

keep

Laguna

Niguel

in

the

League

of

California

Cities.

Thank

you,

Michelle

Subject: California League of Cities

City Council Members,
I

understand

that

at

Tuesday

November

19th

meeting,

the

Council

will

be

discussing

the
California

League

of

Cities

to

understand

if

our

city

should

remain

in

that

organization.

As
a

Laguna

Niguel

resident,

I

believe

belonging

to

such

an

organization

is

quite
advantageous

to

us.

Being

a

member

allows

us

a

seat

at

the

table

in

important
discussions.

It

also

allows

us

to

share

ideas

and

perhaps

even

push

the

entity

in

a
direction

we

deem

appropriate.

Additionally,

I

understand

one

of

our

councilmembers
already

represents

us

on

the

fire

insurance

issues

and

I

would

hate

to

see

our

city

miss

out
on

those

important

discussions.

Insurance

affects

the

housing

market

and

that

in

turn
affects

the

greater

economy.

I

can

think

of

many

reasons

our

city

should

want

to

remain

a
member,

so

if

the

Council

is

indeed

having

that

discussion,

I

hope

they

will

choose

to

stay.

Thank

you

in

advance

for

your

consideration

of

this

issue.

Jonathan

Hi Laguna Niguel City Council members,
I’m a resident of Laguna Niguel.

I’m hoping our city will stay in the League of California Cities.

It’s a good way to
engage with other municipalities to share what is working, how new laws impact communities and join forces or brainstorm what to do on state wide issues (for example, what is being done with regard to home insurance).

I
believe it’s helpful to our city, but also helpful to our state as well, to have many voices in Cal Cities.

Please vote to
continue being a part of this organization!
Thank you,
Melissa
