RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council approve the excused absences by Mayor Pro Tem Jennings due to a personal health matter.
BACKGROUND
The City Manager was informed that Mayor Pro Tem Jennings would be absent from City Council meetings due to a personal health matter until further notice.
ANALYSIS
California Government Code section 36513(a) provides that if a C ity Council Member is absent without an excuse from all regular City Council meetings for 60 consecutive days from the last meeting he or she attended, his or her office may be vacated. The Council’s acknowledgement of these constraints on the part of Mayor Pro Tem Jennings will excuse these absences until further notice.
FISCAL REVIEW
There is no fiscal impact as a result of this report.
LEGAL REVIEW
The City Attorney's Office has reviewed this report and approved it as to form.
CONCLUSION
