REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL
To:Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council
From:Jason Simpson, City Manager
Prepared by:Rick De Santiago, Public Works Manager
Date:February 13, 2024
Subject:Change Order No. 2 to the Public Works Construction Agreement with NPG, Inc. for the Asphalt Repairs, Slurry Seal, and Striping for 11 Park Parking Lots
Recommendation
Approve and authorize the City Manager to execute Change Order No. 2 to the Public Works Construction Agreement with NPG, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $116,767.00 for the Asphalt Repairs, Slurry Seal, and Striping of 11 Park Parking Lots, Project No. Z40023 in such final form as approved by the City Attorney.
Background
This project aims to address any existing damage or deterioration, improve the overall condition and functionality of 11 City parking lots, and enhance their appearance and safety. Asphalt repairs are necessary to fix any cracks, potholes, or other surface damage in the parking lots. Cracks and other damage in the asphalt can allow water to seep into the underlying layers, leading to more significant structural issues over time. Repairing these areas and applying a slurry seal can help prevent water infiltration, protecting the parking lots’ integrity and extending their lifespan.

The additional work will consist of:
