Subject:Amendment No. 4 to the Agreement for Contractor Services with RP Landscape & Irrigation, Inc. for Maintenance Services at Alberhill Community Park
Recommendation
Approve and authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 4 to the Agreement with RP Landscape & Irrigation, Inc. for Maintenance Services at Alberhill Community Park and to increase compensation by an additional $43,895.13 for a total not to exceed $1,153,357.27 per Fiscal Year in such final form as approved by the City Attorney.
Background
The City entered the original Contractor Services Agreement on October 27, 2020, for $743,042.00 for Citywide Park Maintenance Services. On June 28, 2022, the City approved Amendment No. 1 by an additional $206,000.00 to cover additional services. On July 11, 2023, the City approved Amendment No. 2 by an additional $98,500.00 to cover additional services. On August 8, 2023, the City approved Amendment No. 3 by an additional $61,920.14 to incorporate additional landscape maintenance services for parks and community facilities, plant replacement, and unforeseen repairs completed by RP Landscape. The City of Lake Elsinore is responsible for maintaining City-owned parks, beaches, parking lots, and parkways, and due to the high volume of maintenance work this job entails, the City contracts with vendors to supplement staff's efforts to keep up with the workload.
Amendment No. 4 for Contractor Services with RP Landscape
Discussion
Amendment No. 4 is requested to incorporate services for Alberhill Community Park Soccer Fields. Services for overseeding the soccer fields, overseed the field with a combination of Rio Bermuda and Grand Slam perennial ryegrass seed, which will help improve the overall quality and durability of the turf. Level low spots on the field using topsoil to ensure a level playing surface will help create a more even and consistent surface for the players. A temporary chain link fence will be installed to ensure the overseeding process's success. This will help keep park users off the fields during seed germination and establishment.
